چکیده

Abstract Background Mitral regurgitation (MR) and tricuspid (TR) often occur simultaneously symptoms of biventricular heart failure can overlap. There is currently no consensus on the management combined MR TR. Purpose To evaluate impact TR echocardiographic functional outcome after M-TEER. Methods 740 patients underwent M-TEER for moderate-to-severe at our center from 2010 to 2021. Patients were analyzed according severity concomitant TR: low-grade (grade ≤ I (trace - mild)), moderate II) high-grade III V (severe torrential)). After M-TEER, followed up 12 months their was evaluated. Results Low-grade present in 279 (37.7%), 170 (23.0%) 291 (39.3%) time procedure. with had higher morbidity resulting EuroSCORE II STS-Score. At baseline more grade ≥III group (92.8% vs. 87.1% group; p=0.023). Procedural success achieved similarly all groups (98.2% 97.6% 95.9%, p=0.22). discharge 87.6% 80.9% residual ≤I (p=0.036). Residual 6.0% 10.5% (p=0.062). 3 increased 9.4% 13.4% (p=0.23) further 12.3% 15.3%, respectively (p=0.52). decreased rapidly consistently procedure only 48.0% still (p<0.001). this proportion declined 46.8% (p=0.99). High-grade significantly mortality (21.5% 18.2% 11.1%, p=0.003) However, TR-grade did not independently predict (HR 1.326, 95% CI 0.623–2.824, p=0.46). Conclusion compared patients. safe effective reduction independent severity. an risk but adverse outcome. group. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Endovascular Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair

Background—The edge-to-edge technique is an accepted method for the surgical repair of a regurgitant mitral valve. This study reports the initial use of an endovascular technology that enables a double-orifice edge-to-edge mitral valve repair without cardiopulmonary bypass in an animal model. Methods and Results—Adult pigs (n 14) were anesthetized, and left thoracotomy was performed for epicard...

Edge-to-edge mitral valve repair without ring annuloplasty for acute ischemic mitral regurgitation.

BACKGROUND Alfieri edge-to-edge mitral repair has been used clinically with ring annuloplasty to correct ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR), but its efficacy without concomitant ring annuloplasty has not been described in this setting. METHODS Seventeen sheep underwent implantation of 9 radiopaque markers on the left ventricle, 8 on the mitral annulus (MA), 1 on each papillary muscle (PM) ti...

Pulmonary Hemorrhage following Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair

Mitral valve repair with the MitraClip device has emerged as an effective treatment option for patients with severe mitral regurgitation and contraindications for surgical interventions. While the procedure is not known to cause pulmonary complications, we describe two cases of pulmonary hemorrhage following percutaneous mitral valve repair. The patients did well with supportive care and reinit...

The edge-to-edge technique for mitral valve repair

The edge-to-edge technique was introduced in the surgical armamentarium of mitral valve repair in 1991 and has progressively been used to restore mitral competence in the setting of degenerative, post-endocarditis and functional mitral regurgitation. Appropriate indications and awareness of the important technical aspects of the procedure are prerequisites for a good outcome. The free edges of ...

Acute Mitral Regurgitation Secondary to Papillary Muscle Tear: Is Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair a New Paradigm?

Severe mitral regurgitation (MR) secondary to papillary muscle tear is an infrequent but overwhelmingly morbid and often fatal complication of acute myocardial infarction occurring in 1% to 3% of patients. In-hospital mortality without surgical correction can approach 80%; however, even with surgical correction, papillary muscle tear carries a mortality rate between 19% and 53%. While considera...
